Mining Poetry by Joel Tankersley

The Driller

I have traveled all the earth,
I have seen the Lords own work.
The frozen peak, the valley hot,
miner, man and argonaut.

Stand inside the open door,
the heart of God, the mountain core.
I have traveled all the earth,
I have touched the Lords own work

Parched desert, deep blue snow,
mountain top and deep below.
I have stood in the salome dust,
I tend the drill and drill I must.

I have held,
with my own hands,
work of God,
the toil of man.
