Cause of Explosion: A comparatively new mine with few working rooms, numerous headings, a high velocity in the air.  A fall in a pillar section forced gas out on the naked lights.  The explosion was propagated by dust.  The mine foreman who was outside the mine was the only man on the mine crew who escaped alive.
